Environmentally Friendly Fishing Tackle

Mission Statement

To provide environmentally responsible fishing products to anglers of all skill levels and promote stewardship of our fish, fisheries, and ecosystems.

What We Do

Our inventory is selected very carefully and reviewed constantly to ensure that it supports our obligation to protect the environment. We seek out manufacturers, non-profit groups, government agencies, and individuals who share our conservation values and passion for fishing.

We live our lives and run our business with this same philosophy. We view our customers and suppliers as friends and partners. We are anglers and we are stewards.

Green Tackle Gives Back

At least 1% of all sales are donated to our non-profit partners committed to protecting fish, fish habitat, fishing, and the environment. We are currently partnered with Recycled Fish, a national movement of anglers who live and promote a lifestyle of stewardship both on and off the water.

Our History

Green Tackle was founded in 2008 by Micah Carrick. Having first discovered the thrill and beauty in fishing with his father while young, Micah renewed his passion for fishing after moving to Portland, Oregon. Concerned with the materials in his tackle, the deterioration of local freshwater ecosystems, and the status of wild Salmon and Steelhead in the Pacific Northwest, Micah set out to find better ways to fish.

I found companies and anglers all over the world coming up with innovative new products and practices to help conserve fisheries and protect ecosystems. I learned just how many anglers are leading the movement to protect our waterways, fishes, and natural resources. I just couldn't find any easy access to these amazing products. I realized that I could bring green fishing gear to other anglers who, like me, love to fish and want preserve this awe-inspiring heritage for generations to come.

The Green Fishing Community

As anglers, we often witness the deterioration of our rivers, lakes, streams, and oceans first hand. We believe our time spent outdoors fishing, connected with our natural world, is a valuable gift worth preserving. We accept our responsibility as anglers and as stewards of the environment.
